The Extension can be more intuitive

Can someone (maybe @ImprovedTube?) explain to me why we have the "up next autoplay" option?
How is this different from clicking the "autoplay" slider on the player itself?
It seems to mirror the functionality of this slider, and in fact breaks the slider because the extension's option overrides the native slider's setting.
Unless there's something I'm missing, I think this feature should be removed.

    it could be nice (have a usecase), if somebody wants both:
    a baseline (default) setting - plus use Youtube's switch sometimes for the current playback.
    I.e. you might decide to schedule one random video, but only one. Then have a pause/active decision again.
    ( But then you are still right it should come with the option "dont change" ! (Bummer binary switches are prettier) )

ImprovedTube can become easier:

• "Player : Up next autoplay: off": (setting youtube's switch at pageload)

  • "Playlist: Up next autoplay: off" - pauses in the last 2 seconds of current video of playlist too (unless looping it). Only possible with ImprovedTube.

• "Player :Autoplay : off": dont start videos at page-load but require to press play.

  • except playlists? except channel trailers?

• "Player : Autoplay : on":

  • but not channel trailers?

👍hey, forced speed&volume sliders can stay visible but can be in the same field, without an extra label...
what about Popup improvements:

1. enabled items: remain in a different bg-color (just like the grey on hover/mouse-over)
   1.1. enabled items can shrink a bit in height too (very few pixels)
   while the currently hovered item can grow slightly

Hey @ImprovedTube! Sorry for the delay in my response.
I really like all these ideas, I'm trying to think of the best way to consolidate it. I think that a Trello (or equivalent service) would be really good for this project. If we compiled these into a Trello board I could start iteratively chipping away at them.

Do you think this is a superior solution to the "tiered" sliders? I think it might be, but it would take more work on the UI library than anything.

ohh hi @JuniorGenius, thanks! tried to say nested/tiered switches dont apply there. Besides it would be sweet else where. (but for example Screenshot button would be enough to be one button and one status compact in line, with out a screen? (and navigation could be guided/connected somehow. I.e. Maybe we should have alternative checklist with the same features "Hide things & prevent Autoplays" ( just mentioned 3+ Way switches this time to differenciate. could semantically make sense sometimes, for either different degrees 0,1,2 (or traffic light or maybe -1, 0, +1)

To answer the initial example in this tread better: It is now two different specific&rare things and not really related(different users - if any) as said, besides of course they can be summed up as one section under the common keyword: "youtube Up Next/"Autoplay"-button" (with 4 options excluding each other)

And also since Youtube confusingly calls "Up next" Autoplay now,
so we could also rename our player: autoplay: off:
