Virtualization service (libvirt) is not active

I'm trying to install cockpit-machine but cannot get it to work.

After I installed it using the instructions:
git clone https://github.com/cockpit-project/cockpit-machines
cd cockpit-machines
make

and

sudo make install

The application appears in Cockpit, but it doesn't detect libvirt as active.

Error = Virtualization service (libvirt) is not active

Libvirtd is running though:

systemctl status libvirtd

Problem solved: running

sudo apt-get install cockpit-machines

solved the issue
