Purpose:

  • Help new and current contributors to select the project they should contribute to based on their interests
  • Take the "guessing" out of where to start contributing

Concept:

  • Similar to how the Harry Potter Sorting Hat places people in the correct Hogwarts house, we would have a quiz that asks several questions and matches the person with the project/s that best aligns with their answers. They then would receive information about the first issues the project needs help with.

Where

When

  • Would like to have this ready by KubeCon + CloudNativeCon Europe 2024

Happy to have a call about the above

I know Kubecon EU 2024 is some time away but it would be helpful to have a rough schedule for how this will proceed as there is a lot that needs to go into this project. Specifically, I think we need the content first before we can work on the design and implementation. So we need delivery dates for these phases:

  1. Content
  2. Design
  3. Implementation
  4. Testing
  5. Launch

For the content, we need a rough outline of the quiz and the logic that produces the resulting project recommendation. Of course this can be refined before and after launch but we need to know the basic template before we can work on the design.

We also need to know the logic for presenting the first issues to work on. Where do those issues come from and how should they be prioritized?

Are there any online quizzes that we can use as examples for how you'd like this to work? One I like that comes to mind is the quiz here under the button "Find your perfect matcha".
