After a grid with sortable columns is rendered, the sorting classes get lost from the header cells as soon as a model is added to the (regular Backbone) collection, which causes the ascending/descending indicators to disappear.
This issue was lined out by keeyip and andrefrcastro in /issues/429 and still seems to affect the current version.
