A Few Questions Not Answered by the Documentation

setting this up for the first time to configure a few heterogenous bare metal machines in the cloud, and would appreciate clarity on a few things!

1. when creating the targetMedia partitions, how am i supposed to know the names of the devices files ahead of time? i assume there's some standard naming protocol to rely on? but in an environment where there are some SSDs and some NVMes, how am i supposed to blindly make these choices?

2. at what logical stage / sequence are the pre-install and post-install hooks run? obviously pre and post install lol, but just trying to build an understanding for present state at each point to reason what configuration would be useful to do at each stage.
