What happened?

I found this repository after searching for updates on the issue I made on the forum: thread
It looks very similar to this issue: #2578

This issue was supposed to be fixed in the canary build, but after trying all three update channels, none of them worked.
This is game breaking for remote play players, luckily less so for me.
You can see that in the video below that in canary 9481, it still doesn't work.

FiveM-issue.mp4

As you can see, the cursor flickers every time there is non-physical mouse input, and stops when the input stops.

Original Issue:
FiveM Build 8959 (but Issue is probably older)
GTA 1.0.3274.0_v2
Up to date
Legit copy
Epic
Windows 11

Important parts
What is the issue you’re having?
(might be a bug or just my issue) I want to use my drawing tablet (my 2nd screen) in graphics programs like Clip Studio Paint and Photoshop. I make art that I use on a roleplay server, and I would like to be in character and use it. This went fine until recently, when suddenly FiveM “Hijacks” my cursor when I use the stylus of the tablet screen. It puts the cursor in the top right of my 1st screen and then flickers between where I’m holding it on the 2nd. This already happens in FiveM’s main menu before getting on the server. It also happens when I put the game on my 2nd screen. The mouse still goes to the top left of my 1st screen. This only happens with FiveM and not vanilla GTA or other games. It also used to work normally before with FiveM. I feel like it started in May or the beginning of June. I have tried many things to resolve it. I know it’s not the typical use case for FiveM, but I’d appreciate the help. I do not know if this is a bug or not.

What are you trying to do?
Use my drawing tablet display with stylus while on a FiveM server.

What have you tried already to fix the issue?
Reinstalled GTA and FiveM, reinstalled tablet drivers, tried different tablet cursor modes (WinTab and Windows Ink). Reinstalled my graphics software (even though it doesn’t seem tied to the program, issue arises on plain desktop as well). Tried windowed mode, full-screen and windowed full-screen.

What did you do to get this issue?
Already explained.

What server did you get this issue on? Be specific and name some, ‘all of them’ by itself isn’t useful!
The issue already arises before going into a server. Just staying on the FiveM start screen already introduces the issue. If it’s of any relevance, I play on ONX.

Expected result

I used to be able to use a non physical mouse

Reproduction steps

Open FiveM
Use a non-physical mouse, like e.g. a stylus, or remote play input
Mouse flickers in the top-left corner (see video in main post)

Importancy

Slight inconvenience

Area(s)

FiveM

Specific version(s)

From at least FiveM Build 8959 to canary 9481

I can confirm I've tried several remote mouse programs including moonlight, nvidia gamestream, kvm software like inputdirector and synergy, and other abandoned software like Kainy, even tried VNC.

Since this issue has not been resolved since Jun 6th of this year, i have been unable to manage my server in-game, as my setup uses a headless gaming server that remote into. I basically have been forced to abandon the server I have managed for now because I can't even logon.

The devs have been awful quiet on this one, I suspect its something due to anticheat changes possibly, so I'm not certain it is going to be resolved. :(

I've tried the Canary-Build like someone suggested no difference. This is the only game I can't remote play on pc I've ever run into, (I've tried everything from emulators, dosbox to even vnc into an actual old win98 computer, never had this problem on any other software, up till now) and it was one I played significant time and invested significant money in the 4 digits, so I'm rather annoyed.

Bump, just encountered this myself today, really messed with all my settings nothing seemed to have any affect, so glad it's not just me. I would say it's more than a slight inconvenience; if you're streaming the game which is a lot more common these days, it's not playable!
