From Jim: "Yesterday’s NPM outage illustrated a failure point where we are reliant on a 3rd party service. There are several of these: Azure, AWS, Github, NPM, Akamai (possibly more). It would be good to add a story about making our build process resistant to any one of these going down."

  • What can we expect to happen when our services go down?
  • How reliable have our services been for the last few years?

Need to understand terms of service commitments made with other agencies and what the agreed upon expectations of availability are.
