Description

I cannot connect butter to my trakt.tv account

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create a trakt.tv account
  2. Go to butter and try to link the account you just created
  3. Click yes when asked if you want to link the accounts

Expected behavior: The accounts should be linked

Actual behavior: I get a flash with a number, that keeps changing every time I try to join the accounts. I guess that it is a code that I would have to use in another place. The flash lasts for less than a second and it's impossible to copy or take a screenshot.

EDIT: I managed to take a screeshot, but now I have no idea what to do with the code.

Technical details

  • OS: MacOS 10.12.6
  • Please mention the version of Butter you're running: I'm not sure where to find it. In the console I saw Butter 0.3.10
  • On the developer tools I could read: [DEBUG] Trakt sent back no token at app.js:6.

Same thing here.

Could be that these tokens expired

Try making your own App https://trakt.docs.apiary.io/#introduction/create-an-app

And then swap the two keys you get for the ones that are already in Butter. Just to rule out that it's not the keys that are the issue.

@trosel, I did, but I'm not sure if it worked.
