I found your post in paperless-ngx/paperless-ngx#7802
and like it very much. The way you present the data really is of great value.

Have you thought of presenting that improvement upstream, in the csrf middleware project (whatever that is)? Doing so would benefit a lot more projects than just paperless.

The "upstream" is simply django itself.

Yes I've certainly thought about it, and I think I even opened a discussion somewhere (though I cannot find that quickly now).

My general worry is: these improvements have security implications (in general: information exposure). Getting something akin to what I've written accepted is bound to involve long discussions about certain trade-offs.

I've made (and documented) those trade-offs for my own project (Bugsink) but I don't have time for the general discussion. Feel free to kick that off somewhere though, I'll surely have to to weigh in.
