This software (appears to have been) originally created for ruby-1.9.3, which has been unsupported for some time.

Upgrade so it plays nice with Ruby 2.3.

My test Dockerfile has this working(ish) for Ruby 2.1. Shouldn't be too hard to get it up to 2.3.
