howdy on nixos

any chance this would ever be packaged for nixos? i could try to do that, but first i just want to make sure no one else is doing that too and actually getting some progress, so as to not waste my time

There's work on it in nixpkgs, but there's some stumbling blocks. NixOS/nixpkgs#216245
