Radxa Rock series SBCs

FYI - Just tested Frigate on a Radxa Rock 3a and it seems to work very well. I have the Dual edge TPU installed in the E-Key slot (which only gives 1 TPU, and I think its slow PCIe, but works). Once I get cooling (need to 3d print a case with fan) and hardware acceleration figured out I will update this thread with performance specs.

They just released the Rock5 Model B which looks like it will be a very capable little device, better alternative to a raspberry pi: A76 chip, 16gb ram option, 2.5G ethernet, and dual m.2 slots (E key and M key i believe)...

I have a Rock 4 on the slow boat over the ocean, and will probably be pre-ordering a 5 as well to play with.

I got the rock4c and the rock3a, the rock 3a seems to be a bit unstable and couldn't get it to boot from nvme but the 4c is a great board, the gpu seems to be able to handle 2.4tops for the rpi4 and 0.8tops with the rock3, can't wait to get the coral when they available again

I have Armbian with Rock 4B with 2GB RAM running in a test setup with Coral TPU. I have 3 cameras with latest Beta only on a SD Card for now. If I run through all cameras at the same time I miss not any event/recording even I have no video HW acceleration. OK the tests run in-house might be different on a windy day outdoor with many different sun/shadow/motion patterns. This will become my next test. What is also incredible is the low power consumption of 6W in average.
My Cameras Streams.

1. HEVC 640x360 for detect and 1080p for record 5fps (this stream can't be switched to x264 and causes the most load)
2. x264 640x360 for detect and 2560x1440 1440p record
3. x264 640x360 for detect and 2560x1440 1440p record
   I have only SW decoding enabled. There is HW encoding in the making, but it seems to be with 6 Cores on that beast I'm fine with SW decoding as long the Coral does the object detection?

Has anyone come up with a solution to provide hardware acceleration to ffmpeg on a rock5B?

Does this sbc need Coral TPU or can work well without?

I haven't been able to get the tpu working but using the m.2 coral, ps it only runs on one core else you need to get an adapter to fix it. be great to get TPU working
