You should disable detection via the UI, MQTT, or the API before you enable privacy mode. Frigate is not aware of any Tapo specific settings.

You could watch the debug view to see what's happening. It could be a number of things.

Under the other tab, "Debugging", you should enable motion boxes and bounding boxes and then watch what occurs when you toggle privacy mode.

I did but there is nothing to see... no box appears.

So before you turn on privacy mode, are there objects that frigate is detecting in the frame?
