This behavior is correct as described in #1358, #587 but what i can do if want process/format anyway?

You can do it via standard input:

echo package.json | biome format --stdin-file-path=file.json

Don't call your file package.json obviously, otherwise you'll see this error again. Give it another name, and use the .json extension
