I have been using time series and the Time Slice widget to create animations of various diagrams. This is very nice, however, there does not currently seem to be any way of displaying the current time from the Time Slice in the diagram, so one ends up trying to arrange both the open Time Slice window and the, say, Bar plot window so that one can keep an eye on the time in one and the data in the other.
It would be nice if one could add a dynamic label to charts. Setting it to the current time is probably only one of the many uses of such a feature.
What's your proposed solution?
A text area that can be dragged to a suitable place in diagrams and which accepts and displays the data in a given feature.
Are there any alternative solutions?
One could perhaps have something more specific for time series. Perhaps the Time Slice widget could display its current time on the widget face—this would require less space and be more legible than having the widget open.
