I'm sorry, but I don't understand how to use the addresseeimage option.

Could someone please explain?

the variable is a conditional koma feature and need activation.
so the feature looks incomplete to me, images shows (above the address field on the left over here) when I add

inside class options

$if(addresseeimage)$
  addrfield=backgroundimage,
$endif$

and

replacing the variable handling with actually using the image to be included

$if(addresseeimage)$\setkomavar{addresseeimage}{\includegraphics[scale=1]{$addresseeimage$}}$endif$
