Dell XPS 15 9570 FHD
i7 8750H
8GB RAM
512 SSD

Here what i did so you can understand:

  1. Downloaded clover (latest)
  2. Wiped a 16gb stick as HFS+
  3. Installed catalina on the usb from terminal
  4. Installed clover on the usb
  5. Replaced BOOT and Clover folders in EFI with this repo's ones
  6. Edited config.plist with clover configurator changing: serial number for imessage ( yes i checked the procedure of checking it on that website and then on checkcoverage.apple.com) , SmUUID generated, and in Devices i changed that max-framerate setting to CgAAAA== as said to match my FHD setting
  7. Stuck the usb in the pc, open bios, add the clover entry, disable safe boot, disable virtualization and boot in clover.

Now, here is the problem, the verbose screen passes with a few errors i guess i can forget. When i'm in the "cool interface", it randomly reboots, maybe i'm wiping the disk (i did multiple times because sometimes it rebooted in the while and didn't end the procedure) or maybe i'm doing the installation. No matter what it will reboot.

I tried both doing the drive wipe in APFS and HFS+ , i also partitioned a Windows 150GB exFat partition but i think that's not the problem. I'm leaving here my clover config. I hope you can help me soon.
Thank you very much guys.

PS: If it can help , i didn't replace wifi card cause i didn't get it.

Maybe double check you BIOS settings or try this EFI without changing anything?

I tried now with your EFI. Same happens. Boot in, erase the ssd in HFS+ , this time i didn't even create the Windows partition. Install macOS catalina > SSD > 10 minutes remaining, wait a minute.. reboot.
Here my bios settings please look it carefully, i might have missed something or accidentally put on something i shouldn't have done.

@frbuccoliero I'll record my bios in a second cause I'm sure we don't have the same options enabled. What kind of USB drive are you using? USB 3.0 or 2.0?

Btw i was doing some research about my problem and found out that it might be ssd.
I created a ubuntu live usb and checked with the same procedure used in this repo for the toshibas even if my drive is Samsung. I found out that i don't actually have any 4k entry. Is there a fix? A kext i have to install to make it work , or maybe a patch?

Here is the result of the command

@frbuccoliero I don't think it's fixed with a kext. I tough I read somewhere that you should configure this with some tool but you should look into that, note: if you change this it will wipe your complete disk I think.

I don't really care wiping it. I just bought the pc. When i booted live ubuntu i completely wiped out the disk and now i'm running the catalina setup with stock EFI and your bios settings

Btw i see you have vt-d on , in your BIOS, even if hackintosh 101 is to disable it
I had it off, but i turned it on to make my bios the same as yours.

No way, it went trough way far then i was expected to go (around 35% of the bar and "8 minutes left") but then it rebooted the same way

@toonvanstrijp I was waiting for your reply so in the meanwhile i looked at your profile and found https://github.com/jaromeyer/XPS9570-Catalina
So i decided do give it a try. It amazingly installed Catalina with no problem. But ATM trackpad is not working and icloud services too. Should i keep using OpenCore now or i might try now booting on with clover anyway?
Whatever will be, will be tomorrow. Thank you for your effort and all the community.

@frbuccoliero hmm still strange that you've issues with the trackpad and stuff, maybe try boot this clover again, you can also try my EFI? Just copy the complete EFI folder to your EFI USB Partition.
Here is my setup:

Nevermind. Rebooted, cleared nvram and trackpad works. Looks like i'll go with OC.

@frbuccoliero some Samsung SSDs don't work with Catalina. For example the SSD I got with my XPS was PM981 which is not compatible, had to replace it with something from the tonymacx86 Buyer's Guide.
