Signup Page - Project Description for GitHub

Overview

The Signup Page is a core component of our user authentication system, built using React for the frontend, Flask for the backend, and Microsoft SQL Server for database management. This page allows users to register securely by providing essential information, which is validated both on the client and server sides.

Features

1️⃣ User-Friendly Form:

  • Input fields for user credentials (e.g., username, email, password).
  • Real-time validation for form fields (e.g., password strength, valid email format).

2️⃣ Responsive Design:

  • Fully responsive layout designed for desktops, tablets, and mobile devices.
  • Styled using CSS and modern design principles.

3️⃣ Client-Server Communication:

  • Uses Axios for making POST requests to the Flask backend API.
  • Sends user data to the /signup endpoint for registration.

4️⃣ Error Handling:

  • Displays user-friendly error messages for invalid inputs or server-side issues.
  • Prevents duplicate registrations through server-side checks.

5️⃣ Integration with Microsoft SQL Server:

  • Securely stores user credentials (hashed passwords) in the database.
  • Verifies email uniqueness before creating new records.

Tech Stack

  • Frontend: React, CSS
  • Backend: Flask (Python), CORS for cross-origin requests
  • Database: Microsoft SQL Server

How to Use
