Amplify build failed

This workshop was easy and simple to run before. Now with tight integration with Amplify things are no more transparent. After creating own repo, mirroring the content from template repo, and creating required IAM role, when I try doing the first build in Amplify, it fails in build stage.

Looking at the build output, seems like it clones the repo, extracts environment cache, completes patching NPM package @aws-amplify/cli - but then it blows up, with no further error messages.

This is so frustrating, wanted to run it in an enablement session for my partner, but now I can't. Any quick resolution would be helpful.

had this same issue yesterday. I found that you cannot BUILD the app because there’s a IAM permission issue, and found this article, which solved the build —> https://docs.aws.amazon.com/amplify/latest/userguide/how-to-service-role-amplify-console.html
