Integrate feature to allow Audacious to exploit large amounts of unused RAM
Which feature or functionality are you missing in Audacious?
I have a modern Linux PC (over 16GB RAM, 64GB in my case) but Audacious only utilizes a tiny amount of RAM (100MB). Often, sorting and searching a massive file database lags and freezes.
What makes it beneficial for users?
Using a larger RAM cache could speed up operations with very large song libraries

Additional information

  • Do other audio players offer this feature?
  • Yes, many android and even Windows apps feature extremely fast, pause free sorting and searching, even on much weaker hardware.
