Treat ~ in (La)TeX documents as whitespace

I am using spell-check plugin with text.tex.latex grammar enabled. In (La)TeX the tilde character ( ~ ) is used for an unbreakable space, but it is apparently treated by spell-check as a non-whitespace character, so e.g., "a~dog" is highlighted.
