We are Athens.

Does this reflect how we organize ourselves, our ideals, and our chosen identities, gracefully and courageously? A team, a collective, a community, a commons, a gathering, a hamlet that could grow into an ecosystem-strong movement?

Athenians? Athenites? Athenonians? Athes? Athics? Athentics? Athentastical?

Athens was named after the ancient Greek Goddess of Wisdom and War, Athena, the pure-blood daughter of Zeus, sprang right out of his head fully grown and clothed in armor.

P.S. Keep reading for too much information. She was also known as Parthenos which means virgin. Yeah that's right. The Parthenon on the Athenian Acropolis? Hers. Originally built in 428 BS it was destroyed and then rebuilt in 498 BC. One of the world's most famous cultural monuments? Parthenon means unmarried woman's apartment.
