As reported here, and on the mailing list Garb may no longer be working with the Google Analytics API. Investigate whether a new gem such as Gattica may be needed.

http://vanity.labnotes.org/metrics.html#ga <- this should be updated

Hm, the plot thickens. Apparently there is a relatively recent version of Garb available: http://github.com/Sija/garb, however, it's not up on RubyGems: Sija/garb#28.

So, one workaround would be referencing gem 'garb', :git => 'git://github.com/Sija/garb.git'

Another alternative might be to drop the Google Analytics-specific code and implement a generic API to plug into, much as is done here: http://viget.com/extend/user-goal-tracking-in-rails-with-vanity-and-google-analytics

As Garb has been updated on Rubygems, the focus of this issue should be on making sure the tests are up to date.
