Can we, users, help testing betas and reporting issues?

Saludos.

P. D: Is this project the same than this other: https://github.com/x5plus-dev/android_device_bq_gohan or should I communicate with said project's team as well?

Hey, I would join as well!
@eemantsal: good question. It seems nightmare (https://github.com/darknightmare) is working on this fork. Maybe he can contribute to the BQ dev?

Would also love to do some beta testing ;) But that needs a bootable kernel first, I guess.

aquaria-dev (formally bq-dev) team is the official maintainers of LineageOS/CyanogenMod and we welcome contributions to the LineageOS Gerrit. DarkKnightmare has been offered a chance to contribute his changes upstream to us :)

That said, the BETA isn't ready yet.

Something new regarding https://github.com/LineageOS/android_device_bq_gohan ?

Same question here...but I guess its dead before it was born.
Isnt it possible to replace the launcher and deactivate gApps? I know that this will not bring you any closer to CM features, but could be a compromise.

Not dead at all. Please check the status report from today: http://aquaris-dev.org/blog/2017/01/21/device-status.html

Thx for the sharing! The status update of this blogs opens up new questions. It says that there will be no further updates (aka commits?), but known issues exist?! Does this mean this project will not be finished? It is posted that there will be a build soon, but in code base we see not a single commit since 9 weeks. Do you version code somewhere else?

Therefore I guess CM13 is more dead than alive...how does the situation look like with CM14.1? Is there an official repo? Could I potentially help out in this project?

Yes, the development currently happens in a private repository. All code will be merged back into the public repository as soon as the device is fully working.

@stucki may you publish the gohan cm-14.1 branch already?
