go to https://www.java.com/en/download/ and download and install the JRE 8.* from there then run the install again.

This is just one of the reasons Java is such a giant flaming piece of crap.... Why do developers still use it. Literally ANY other language would be better. Between the installation problems and the huge memory leaks every Java application has I don't understand why anyone is still using this.

Downloaded and installed the jre environment from Oracle... and of course aptana can't find it and won't install until it things it's there. I'm done. If you decide to build this on something else... ANYTHING else it looks like it might be a good product. But as long as it's java it's going nowhere.
