multilingual website

Is there any easygoing tutorial for build multilingual sites? I've trying adapted this repo for three languages following other multilingual website tutorials without success.

I created the config/_default paths, with five toml files :
languages.toml (setting languages )
menus.en.toml (English setting)
menus.en.toml (Spanish setijng)
menus.pt.toml (Portuguese settings)
params.toml (setting param)

I also created subdirectories (en, es , pt) for each language with .md translated in the content folder... but not works...
