\background shown in FAQ not working

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.use \background as shown in FAQ for changing the background image of baposter

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
texlive 2009-15 ; editor-Texmaker
Operating system-Ubuntu 12.04

Please provide any additional information below.
I think the problem is wide spread. Its all over the net. I don't know why 
nobody reported this.
