Currently the only way I see to install/update the App is to download the APK from the GitHub Release page. This is inconvenient and encourages to allow the installation from not-trusted sources. By providing the App on F-Droid, it gets easier for users to discover and install the App.
An alternative would be to ask @IzzyOnDroid to include the APKs released on GitHub in his third-party repository for now, but the mentioned reason of a higher chance to get discovered is on the main F-Droid repository.

Last time I tried, the issue with fdroid on they are too restrictive on Google services, this app needs Google services to work at-least for now. In long term I think it's better to have an in app updater.
