👋 Welcome!

You may be thinking: "a Discussions page for a list of programming languages!?" You're right! It's an odd thing to have, but there is a reason for this Discussions page to exist. Namely that GitHub Issues aren't always the right place for, well, discussions of topics which aren't yet decomposed into concrete actions to be taken.

Other projects may defer to other platforms like Zulip, Discord, Slack, or IRC as the coordinating place for discussing the broader topics involved with a project but asking people to sign up for another thing and then check in and participate there feels like a bit much. It also makes referencing discussions which happen difficult, because the platform being used may not be very amenable to inter-linking. So, GitHub Discussions it is.

Note that this is not intended to be a place for discussing the languages in the list! We absolutely encourage discussing those languages, but please do it elsewhere.

All that said, welcome! We hope that you might use this space to:

• Ask questions about the project.
• Share ideas for how to make the list or its underlying code / infrastructure better.

We also ask that you follow the Rust Code of Conduct. This forum is not an official Rust forum and isn't moderated by the Rust Moderation Team, but their policies are good and it's easier to refer to those than to write a distinct CoC. If you encounter any issues which involve a violation of the CoC, please contact @alilleybrinker about it.
