Create a Meal Building Option #102
Comments
I think I get the concept. A meal comprises of components and you want to be more granular. Let me think on it. :) |
Ali,
Thanks for the consideration. Perhaps that is a more Premium feature. In my
experience with my clients, they list the foods they eat in their meals in
the journal (I use Gravity Forms currently, but the Meal Tracker has much
more potential!). They also tend to have favorite meals with those foods.
So, my thought is, if they can create a meal with the various foods and
then save it as one of their meals in their collection it will make
things easier for them.
Here is a sample email I get when they complete their form for the day.

We haven't opened Meal Tracker up to the end users yet, but I know this will be asked as soon as we do, as they will be looking at similar apps they've used like MyFitness Pal, Nutracheck and Weight Watchers where they are used to logging their food items, so they will be expecting something similar. Also the word 'Meal' infers multiple meal items, I think 'Food Tracker' is more descriptive. We are used to adding a 'Food item' and creating a 'Meal' from a collection of 'Food Items' together that can be saved. Example: I would normally track everyday 'My porridge with banana' as a 'Meal' containing 'Banana, Soya milk, porridge oats and protein powder'. Then in addition I might have Recipes that contain ingredients and I'd need to divide it by the number of servings to get my total calories per serving. I'm an ex-weight watchers coach myself, so as well as being a web designer I am used to dealing with the members too and their expectations! Thanks for your hard work. Kind regards |
This would make the meal tracker more efficient for clients and would increase the productivity of reaching goals and targets. Will be following this. |
Hi Ali Zoe |
Hi Ali,
I love the improvements to the Meal Tracker. I especially love the "food api" access in addition to the "recipe api."
My confusion is the word "Meal" because when I think "meal" think of the collection of all I am eating. What about the options:
"+Add Meal Components" and "+Add Meal Collection" on the home screen?
If I clicked on "+Add Meal Components", then I could add the components that make up my meal on a pop out screen. Here is a concept:
Once I have the components of my meal listed, perhaps it could say "Save a Meal Collection"
Here is another concept with the current program:
If I add "+Add Meal Collection," I could select from a Meal Collection I had built earlier.
Thanks for you all do!! This is going to be great!
Jim
