Background: The Adobe Client Datalayer is another open source project at Adobe to provide the functionality for manipulating an event driven datalayer. Here is the documentation

It would be useful to be able to use the adobeDataLayer as a direct input into xdm or data. If we detect it is the adobeDataLayer then alloy will call getState() to get the object to send along.

I would like to suggest that any integration between the ACDL and alloy be done from the ACDL side. Alloy should remain pure to its purpose.
