[Announcement] Issues reorganisation

Our repository is piling up issues faster than the team is able to resolve them. Having such a large backlog makes it difficult for us to prioritise and address issues in a timely manner. Therefor, we will start reorganising the backlog.

Target milestone

We will use the newly introduced Minor and Major buckets for giving a gut-feel estimate of when an issue might be tackled:

• Minor - issues that could be addressed for the current component versions, in a backwards-compatible way, in a minor/patch release
• Major - issues that will require new version(s) of one/some of the components (since they cannot be addressed in a backwards-compatible way) in a major release

Once an issue is scheduled for a specific release, it will be picked up to the specific release milestone.

Icebox

We will review old issues with no recent activity and close them, marking them with Icebox label. That means that we probably will never get to work on these issues. If it's something that's important to you, feel free to comment and, even better, submit a PR with a fix proposal. We will then reopen and try to tackle it.
