TaylorBot Release Notes 📝

v1.15.1 - 2021.11.14

  • TaylorBot now has a Privacy Policy! Nothing changed, it's just putting into words how I deal with data privacy and transparency! 📃

  • Moved command enabling/disabling to slash commands! 👉

    • DisableServerCommand/EnableServerCommand are now /command server-disable and /command server-enable. ⛔
    • DisableChannelCommand/EnableChannelCommand are now /command channel-disable and /command channel-enable. ⛔
    • Fixed an issue where you had to use the disable command in the same channel you were disabling the command in. 🐛
    • Discord is working on improving slash command control for server managers, but until then these commands are still useful for both prefix and slash commands. 🔮
  • Lots of minor improvements and fixes. 📈

    • You can now use all prefixed commands in threads. ❕
    • Deleted messages from threads can now be logged like they can with regular text channels. 🚮
    • Messages, words and minutes are now counted for messages sent in threads. 🔢
  • You can now monitor message edits in your TaylorBot Plus server! 👀

    • Use /monitor edited set to set up this moderation feature. ✅
  • Commands like Minutes and Taypoints now don't display rank information in servers with 10 000+ members to avoid slow responses. ⌚

  • Deleted message monitoring configuration has been moved to slash commands under /monitor deleted. 🗑️

  • Member joins, leaves and bans monitoring configuration has been moved to slash commands under /monitor members. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

  • Fixed an issue where commands would experience slowdowns and instability when TaylorBot was under load. 🐛

  • Fixed an issue where uncached bulk deleted message monitoring would display timestamps incorrectly. 🐛

  • Fixed an issue where deleted message monitoring would only display the original deleted message content even when it has been updated before being deleted. 🐛

TaylorBot Release Notes 📝

v1.14.0 - 2021.07.30

  • Did you lose a high daily streak you cared about? You can now re-buy your lost highest streak with /daily rebuy! 😱

    • This operation will cost you 50 taypoints per day of the streak you're restoring. 💸
  • Claim your daily streak using the new /daily claim command! 👷‍♂️

    • For a limited time, use this command to get 60 taypoints per day instead of the usual 50. 🤑
  • Search for images using the new /image command! 📷

    • The command now uses buttons that appear instantly instead of reactions! 🔘
    • The slash command is limited to 4 uses per day or 7 uses per day for TaylorBot Plus members. The prefixed Image command can still be used, but will be limited to 3 uses per day. ⛔
  • Deleted logs now support uncached "user joined the server" system messages. 🚮

  • Deleted logs now use Discord markdown relative timestamp rendering for the "Sent At" and "Edited At" metadata. 📆

  • Buttons are now removed from messages when TaylorBot stops listening to them to avoid confusing "interaction failed" errors. ⌚

  • The /remind add command now supports combined time formats such as "1d 7h". ⏰

  • Fixed an issue where some prefix commands did not respond in announcement channels. 🐛

  • Lots of minor improvements and fixes. 📈

TaylorBot Release Notes 📝

v1.13.0 - 2021.07.05

  • Reminders have been revamped and turned into slash commands! ⚡

    • Add a reminder with /remind add. Pick how long from now you want to be reminded at (i.e. 3h for 3 hours). Assuming your DM settings allow it, you'll receive a DM from TaylorBot to remind you. ⏰
    • You can have at most 2 reminders active at the same time. TaylorBot Plus members can have up to 4. 🧱
    • You can see your active reminders and delete them using /remind manage. 📃
    • Prefixed reminder commands can't be used anymore. 🧓
  • Search for YouTube videos using the new /youtube command! 🎥

    • The command now uses buttons that appear instantly instead of reactions! 🔘
    • The slash command is limited to 7 uses per day. The prefixed YouTube command can still be used, but will be limited to 3 uses per day. ⛔
  • Message and word counting is no longer immediate. The counts will be updated periodically every few minutes. 🧮

    • This should fix an issue where random command errors could occur when there were a lot of message sent at the same time. 🐛
  • Threads are soon coming to Discord! This feature requires some changes in bots and not all features will work properly from the get go. 🥨

    • For now, only TaylorBot slash commands will work in threads. Prefixed commands won't get a response from TaylorBot. 😕
    • TaylorBot won't count messages, words and minutes for messages sent in threads. Deleted messages from threads will not be logged. 😕
    • Some big changes are required to make these features work in threads, hopefully they will be added in future TaylorBot updates. 🔜
  • Lots of minor improvements and fixes. 📈

TaylorBot Release Notes 📝

v1.12.0 - 2021.06.05

  • As the moderation team of a server, did you ever want to establish a better communication channel with specific users? Introducing Mod Mail! 📮

    • Make sure you have enabled moderation command usage logging with /mod log set so your team can see what other moderators are doing. 👀
    • As a moderator, use /mod mail message-user to send a direct message to a user. The user's DM settings need to allow TaylorBot to send messages to them. 📧
    • The user won't see who exactly wrote the message, only that it's coming from your moderation team. As an example, you could use this to send warnings to members without singling out a moderator as responsible. 👨‍👨‍👧‍👧
    • Server members can send also send messages to the moderation team using /mod mail message-mods. Messages will be relayed (not anonymous) to the moderation log channel of the server. 📬
    • As a moderator, you can prevent specific users from sending mod mail with /mod mail block and undo with /mod mail unblock. This can be useful if a specific user is spamming your mod mail. ❌
  • /kick now asks for confirmation when kicking users that have been on the server for 30 days or more. ❓

  • Fixed an issue where the bot could stop responding entirely for a significant period of time under certain circumstances. 🐛

  • Fixed an issue where /kick would sometimes respond with unknown command errors. 🐛

  • Fixed an issue where ChannelInfo would not respond when used with a stage channel. 🐛

  • Lots of minor improvements and fixes. 📈
