Nominated By

Niall Roche

Short Personal Bio

Niall co-founded Venture Builder The Building Blocks and is CTO-in-Residence and a Senior Teaching Fellow at the UCL School of Management and member of at the UCL Centre for Blockchain Technologies and is on the TechComm for the Hedera Hashgraph. Niall teaches AP fundamentals as part of a Smart Legal Contracts module at the LTIC.

Short Personal Pitch

I helped to co-write the first paper submission related to AP to an international conference in the area of Programming Languages for the Law along with some other papers referencing AP.

At my time as Head of Distributed Systems Engineering at Mishcon de Reya LLP I was involved in making the UK Land Registry & Law Commission aware of the capabilities of AP in reports & (https://www.lawsociety.org.uk/topics/research/blockchain-legal-and-regulatory-guidance-report) and proofs of concepts.

By founding the AP NLP Working Group, I am keen to leverage advances in technology to foster innovation using AI/Machine Learning in the creation of contract templates using LLMs and Graph Databases extending on the work done in cicero classify.

I endeavour to continue to promote the use of AP with DLTs such as Hedera HashGraph (https://github.com/niallroche/nft-royalty-agreement) & (https://devpost.com/software/nft-royalty-distribution) and to explore new approaches to implement smart legal contract logic in a privacy-preserving way leveraging DLT.

I hope to continue to spread awareness and adoption of AP within industry, government and Academia and continue to teach AP fundamentals to lawyers and students and contribute to the design and development of the APAP protocol by building a compliant implementation for use in real-world SLC implementations in a number of industries.
