It would be nice to have a config file (say an HTML include file) and a place for easy integration of Google Analytics ID.

So that is a (somewhat) tedious way of doing it. A better way would be to use variables in _config.yml, and a user will only have to add the Google analytics ID there not needing to copy paste any HTML code.

I'm leaving this issue open for someone interested to pick up.
