Not tested on Python 3 yet, but should be straightforward to add, though #1 needs to be merged first (my mistake, long overdue)

There's a new API, and a new repo that has the API client - that one is indeed Py3-compatible, and that's what users will be expected to use - the lowlevel API doesn't account for inter-script interference, does not have API-like things that would be expected from a decent API =) However, this issue still stands, of course - zerophone_hw will have to be ported to Py3, either way.
