Version 3.1.25 macOS Mojave 10.14.6 - Unknown error occurred - not detecting any yubikeys #94
Comments
I am pretty sure I could identify the problem! When I have the keybase application running (keybase.io), then the yubikey is not being recognized by applications unless the application is being run as root. ykinfo -a will result in an error while sudo ykinfo -a will show the normal output When I use activity monitor to close all keybase related processes, even without a reboot, the Yubikey App as well as other apps like KeepassXC will recognize the Yubikey again! |
I am having the same exact problem as soon as I applied the MacOS security patch and updated Mojave 10.14.6. yubikey-personalization-gui Version 3.1.25 does not detect any of my Yubikeys. Anyone found a solution to this? Thanks! |
u can try use new system account |
Platform:
MacOS Mojave 10.14.6
Macbook Pro 2019 (3 USB-C ports)
yubikey-personalization-gui Version 3.1.25 does not detect any of my Yubikeys:
Yubikey Manager 1.1.2 on the same system does detect all of my yubikeys.
executing ykinfo -a
results in
USB error: kIOReturnSuccess
while
executing sudo ykinfo -a works
KeepassXC (any version) no longer detects any of my yubikeys, which is the main problem I need to solve, as I can not access my password database anymore. The issues could be related.
Since the same problem, YubiKeys not being recognized, occurred in the latest yubikey-personalization-gui Version 3.1.25 as well, I am hoping to find some solutions here.
