Start windows maximized if it's the only one in workspace

I think this could be a cool feature option. If a window is the only one in the workspace, automatically execute "maximize-column" on it. Whenever another window opens, the original window returns to the default size.

I'm a relative beginner, but I might try to implement this myself if you like the idea?

Well, this kind of goes directly against the "opening new windows never causes existing ones to resize" principle :)

Also I just noticed #401, which was the main motivation behind me thinking of this anyway.
