A common way to split a line on a whitespace character in Vim is typing r, Enter. It doesn't work with XVim: line is not split, mode is not changed.

This is fixed by #770. It needs test cases which I haven't had the time to get around to recently. If anyone would like to do that, the fix can be pushed to production.
