I use AEL mainly for opening different websites on a webbrowser (youtube, netflix etc) and therefore switch from remote to a keyboard.
If AEL were the application opening the browser (my case firefox) in the first place then it will remember the instance and block me from executing any other launch command until the appication is closed. If the browser were previoulsy opened, AEL opens my url in a new tab and allows me to open multiple sited without block.

I would wish for an option to allow me to launch a standalone application and immediately forget the instance and let kodi idle until it refocuses for new input.
I read #39 and I guess I kind of want a way to ignore this otherwise great feature.

I found the "non-blocking launcher" inside the advanced modification of a launcher setting but that does not seem to do any difference in my situation.

If I recall correctly, non-blocking option only works on Linux. Let me have a look at the code and I will get back to you.

Also, be warned that the non-blocking option may be dangerous! Under some rare circumstances it may lead to database corruption and you will have to rebuild your AEL setup (or make a backup of launchers.xml).

I can confirm that the non-blocking option is only available in Linux. Give me some time and I will prepare a patch to enable it on Windows. You using Windows right?
