Register flat10MIP #64

Awesome. I will whip up an automation to test out during the afternoon meeting. @benmsanderson I am going to need a 'long name' and a URL link describing the project (this can be a paper reference, webpage, or other and can be changed in the future. ) |
Hi Dan, Cool - thanks! Let's go (for now) with: long name: "Emissions-driven diagnostic Model Intercomparison Project" |
We might quickly become EDDMIP as shorthand, so if you're happy with that.. off we go - this is unique, doesn't exist in any defined activity in the past (e.g. CMIP6 activity_id list here), and the prior variants in CMIP5, 3, etc |
I'm OK with that - and given this is a bridging activity and will likely be assimilated by C4MIP in CMIP7, we probably don't need to dwell on it. |
EMISSMIP or EDDMIP would probably be better than flat10MIP in order to potentially support a slightly broader set of experiments in the (near) future, i.e. if there are other experiments that would be useful in a similar "space" to help understand the flat10 results |
@benmsanderson, if you want to ping other contributors on this thread to broaden the discussion before it's locked in, feel free—this is one of the intentions of having these discussions be transparent and world-accessible. |
@matthew-mizielinski has been in discussion with @ChrisJones-MOHC about just jumping one step ahead of this discussion and registering both C4MIP and these experiments as part of them, makes sense to me, and avoids yet another MIP registration - does that work @benmsanderson? |
When decided on the content, the submission process has been updated to this Effectively create a new issue, and use the "Add Activity" template. |
@benmsanderson would like to register the "flat10MIP" activity, which currently includes 3 experiments.
The motivation for these activities is currently in review - see Sanderson et al., 2023
