For anyone facing this problem, I found (fully - that is including the SQL, see README for statements) removing the extension and then reinstalling to work (in my case).

Recently GroupsCatalog Categories index just would not reindex.
Developer mode and logging is enabled, however, there are no errors related to the module.
There were no big recent changes that, in my opinion, could have impacted this.
Magento version: 1.8.1.0
Extension version: 0.3.4
Any help or guidance is much appreciated. I would at least need to know where to start debugging.
