It would be useful to have a QC panel with Xist / chr Y expression to quickly highlight if there are any sex-matching issues in samples. I could also imagine custom QC panels for different types of samples - most groups I'm sure have their list of QC genes (for HSC type projects, MSC type projects etc) to give an overview of the current dataset then compares to others on basic marker genes.
