Notifications from past sessions cannot be cleared on GNU/Linux

i downloaded a sound byte
steam decided it was time to hard reset my laptop
when i log back in, i still have a notification from the app, but no way to clear it
it is stuck with at least one notification at all times
it bothers me way more than i probably should
help
