After the above steps things started to work...however some strange logged-out behaviour remained (the read only mode was not working after a refresh of the page)
This was solved by using the ServerSideSavingPlugin.js from the functioning tiddlycouch, in my plugins folder...instead of the version you provided on github...
Still not sure what was the diff is..(perhaps also a conversion problem...ms to unix..?)...

...After these steps all was functioning ok!...
