Background

  • Use of Smart Maps Portable was successful in ISPRS Commission IV Symposium and FOSS4G Perth. Smart Maps Portable can run 18 hours without power source.
  • However, we may need a lighter option. It sometimes feel awkward in the airport security check though there was no technical problem in the airport.

Decision

  • Consider developing "Smart Maps Portable Lite" whose power source is USB-C from laptop PC such as MacBook Pro.

Pros

  • We can reduce the weight of the system.

Cons

  • We won't make the service uninterruptible like the current Smart Maps Portable.
