If anyone were to have to use the out-of-spec earpieces, yes, they would have to use our calibration model to account for the difference. But, any Tympan example code that includes a calibration does not need to illustrate this weirdo case. The example code should probably just illustrate the nominal case.
I would suggest, however, that we put some sort of label on the out-of-spec earpieces (around the cable?). If we end up using that earpiece, the label would let us know that we need to manually adjust the calibration (or gain) values to compensate for its out-of-spec sensitivity.
Joel could save the per-band calibration values in EEPROM. Then we could add a #define in all the examples that evoke a correction to the sensitivity that happens behind the scenes so it doesn’t get in the way of the basic examples. For instance, by adding a calibration patch cord to the Tympan library.
