Does tw (desktop or website) can run on Windows XP ?

My school is currently having trouble trying to run scratch on their machines, they are running WinXP (32bits) and the last version of Firefox compatible with windows XP. The site will not work nor the desktop version, a version that worked was a mod called "Planète maths" (also known as the mobile version of S3), But extensions and the blocks from the variable tab were stuck at the top (like when you enter %15 in a custom block).Also one time on a machine it said it was incompatible and a student lost their work (it was only a sprite and a background).

Windows XP has not been supported by Microsoft for nearly a decade. If those machines are connected to the internet, then not being able to use Scratch will be the least of your concerns.
