Crystal does not run in an LX Ubuntu 16.04 zone.

$ crystal --help
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::bad_alloc'
  what():  std::bad_alloc
Aborted (core dumped)

This Gist shows how to produce the fault, along with strace's view of what's happening.
