                      INTRODUCTION

The purpose of this introduction is to describe the licensing
intention of the author(s) in plain language, but this general
description of our intent is not intended to supplement or replace
the actual license below.

In general terms this software is provided under the LGPL license
withg the intent to allow anyone to use the software for any use,
including development of commercial transactional web applications
which can be sold for profit.

We intend that you should be able to package the run-time-only
version of Tranzakt (essentially a library) with other software
and sell the package as an integrated whole, with revenues generated
being wholly the result of your added-value and the run-time Tranzakt
code being provided for free.

The developer version of Tranzakt is explicitly intended to be free
software, and can be redistributed but cannot be sold under any
circumstances.

There is nothing in the license below to compel anyone to make any
payments to the Copyright holders, but we would like all users to
recognise that the long-term sustainability of this software will need
resources and ask you to give something back in recognition of the
benefit you will get from use of this software.

We therefore hope that all commercial users of the development version
of Tranzakt will contribute either:
* Professional developers - donate 1% of their development budget in
hard currency - or dedicate 1% of their development time to community
contributions.
* Commercial web sites - donate 1% of gross profits or 0.1% of revenue
generated by the web site in hard currency - or dedicate equivalent
time to community contributions.
